Frequently Asked Questions
What is TAT?
TAT is part of a larger family of mind-body healing techniques collectively known as Energy Psychology. Research suggests that TAT can be effective in treating stress, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and weight loss maintenance.
The Tapas Acupressure Technique combines holding acupressure points on your head (The TAT Pose) and going through a series of 9 statements. It takes approximately 20-30 minutes to do.
"Frequencies" - The rate at which a vibration occurs that makes a unique wave in a physical, subtle, electromagnetic field or any field.
"Energetic Fields" - All fields other than physical, including emotional, mental, wifi, etc.
"Subtle Bodies" - Your personal unseen bodies or fields that interact with the field we all share.
"Core Fractal Pattern" - Fractal means an endlessly repeating pattern.
"Sources" means wherever this originated, both known and unknown.
"Projections" means something that is projected or displayed onto a substance. In our case, it means something like a picture, movie, thought or emotion being displayed from outside of ourselves onto our subtle or physical bodies.
In all of the TAT video recordings, webinars, workshops and private sessions you are guided step-by-step through this simple and easy to use technique. You will learn TAT as you do it.
A standard TAT session will take approximately 20-30 minutes to do.
It used to be thought that we were born with a fixed genetic blueprint that determined our traits, behaviors, and health. Now, discoveries in the field of epigenetics have radically rebooted this theory by demonstrating that our DNA is more of a switchboard than a blueprint.
Epigenetics is the study of how external forces, such as your environment, beliefs, and life experiences, trigger on-off mechanisms on the genetic switchboard.
The beliefs set in place during a traumatic event continue to inform you. A typical belief that “life is not safe and I can’t relax” is a non-stop input throughout your life, leading to toxic stress, and fear. This causes your “red alert” warning system to be stuck at “on”.
Once this belief is actually changed to “life is safe and I can relax”, cellular response immediately changes leading to increased normalization of all biological functions, including brain function.
The TAT pot is the metaphorical place that we "put" what we are working on for each session.
What are "stopper thoughts"?
“Stoppers” is short for stopper thoughts and means any negative thoughts that would impede the process from moving forward. For example:
- This will never work for me!
- TAT is too easy to be of any value.
- It might work for other people, but not for me.
- This is too big.
- Nothing can change this.
- Nothing else has worked for this. TAT won’t either.
Any time a stopper thought occurs, just add it to your pot as soon as you have the thought. For example, This isn’t going to work for me - say to yourself “I’m including this thought in the pot.”
A lot of us are used to setting aside or dismissing negative thoughts. With TAT®, you acknowledge that those thoughts are there and include them as part of the process.
It is not required to be in the TAT Pose for the entire session and it is recommended to NOT be in the TAT pose for more than 20 minutes in a 24 hour period.
When doing the "Parts" step it is including all of the parts of you, spiritual, emotional, mental, physical, and energetic. It's an all inclusive statement that allows you to include every "part" of you involved in what you are working on.
No. You just simply add to the "pot" that you feel the way you do and you don't want to feel that way.
No. You can just add to the pot that anything causing you anxiety, stress, fear, or worry is included. You do not need to know the source.
